Japan Club started off their first meeting of the year by making Onigiri on October 17, in room 220. In addition to the delicious Japanese rice balls, they also provided drinks and listened to music in the background while they worked.
The Vice President of the club, Devin Taylor, said: “I loved this first meeting, I feel like everyone had a really good time, it was a very interactive activity, and I’m just glad that they made it out and made their own Onigiri. I had a great time seeing everyone trying something new and explain a different culture.”
The classroom was full of students enjoying this activity, they all seemed to be having a great time and the best part was that when they were all done making the onigiri, they had time to chill and eat it.
“People should come because it’s fun, the more cultures you know around the world the more you can relate to other people when you are out of society and when you talk to people it’s going to be different when you know more about culture rather than just knowing about your own culture,” club President David Lim said.
If you’re interested in knowing more about a new culture, the Japan club promotes Japanese culture and fun activities. LEE, ISA, NESA and STEM students are welcome, they have meetings every other Wednesday in room 220.
