The 2024 Grammys took place last Sunday Feb. 4, in which the most famous artists were nominated for different categories such as Best Album of the Year, Best Song of the year, etc. There were three new categories this year, including Best African Music Performance, Best Alternative Jazz Album, and Best Pop Dance Recording.
The nominations for the album of the year included World Music Radio by Jon Batiste, The Record by Boygenius, Endless Summer Vacation by Miley Cyrus, Did You Know There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd by Lana Del Rey, The Age of Pleasure by Janelle Monáe, GUTS by Olivia Rodrigo, Midnights by Taylor Swift, and SOS by SZA. Swift brought home her 14th grammy with the win.
“I do think she deserved to win as best album of the year, her album was very well done, the lyrics were very impactful to me,” Ana Rodriguez del Alamo said.
Other highlights from the night included What Was I Made For? from the motion picture Barbie by Billie Eilish taking home the win for song of the year.
Many were disappointed when Lana del Ray went home empty handed after being nominated in 11 different categories. But she eventually made it to the stage alongside Swift who brought her up during her acceptance speech.
