Homecoming season is a time filled with excitement, school spirit, and memorable moments, and asking someone to the dance has become an event in itself. These homecoming proposals have evolved into creative and elaborate displays of affection, ranging from simple gestures to grand spectacles. As students seek unique and unforgettable ways to pop the question, the pressure to create the “perfect” proposal can be both thrilling and daunting.
Homecoming Proposals don’t have to be romantic, sometimes students propose to their friends, and it’s just as fun. This was the case with Senior, Bethany Crumbling, when she was surprised by her good friends Junior, Dulce Villasenor and Senior, Alexander Walker.
The purpose for this was to ensure that Crumbling got the full high school experience before she graduates, and that includes a homecoming proposal.
“I felt very ecstatic and confused at first. I thought they were just giving me a small gift but I honestly was shocked. I never felt so warm in my heart that I was welcomed to be a part of this with them. My favorite part is knowing I have friends like them to make me happy and remember small parts about me.” Crumbling said.
Homecoming proposals are traditionally romantic though, and this is especially true with Sophomores Andrew McFarland and Anali Contreras. McFarland and Contreras have been dating for over a year, and it was a memory that they’ll both remember forever.
“My reaction was priceless, I was so surprised that my boyfriend proposed to me for homecoming. I was in awe, and this is actually my first homecoming and I’m very excited. The meaning behind this is so sweet, me and my boyfriend have been dating for a while, and it was the sweetest thing he has ever done for me. And my favorite thing about it was that he made the homecoming poster inspired by my favorite k-pop group.” Contreras said.
In another awe-inspiring example, Junior Myla Clayton was proposed to be Coen Evans during their creative writing class. It was Fantastic Mr. Fox themed, and the creativity Evans showed is truly something to admire.
“I was really surprised when I got proposed to because I had known that it was happening, but I didn’t know when or how. I was just trying to eat my lunch and then I looked up and saw the poster! The poster was Fantastic Mr.Fox themed because it’s one of my favorite movies. My favorite thing about it was how, when I turned around to take a picture, half of the creative writing students were all watching and clapping, which was very sweet. Literally everyone was in on it but me”. Clayton said.
No matter the situation, whether it be platonic or romantic, homecoming proposals are a memorable part of the Homecoming and even just the high school experience. It gives you
