On Saturday, Feb 8, the LEE Color Guard Team performed their show Losing Control in the TCGC Competition at Piper High School and got first place out of nine. The competition consisted of different classes, depending on level and size, and they competed in Scholastic Regional A.
Events like the TCGC Competition are a good way for the team to test their limits, and challenge themselves by observing the technique and style of the other teams.
“We got to see a bunch of other groups and it’s really great and important to see the other groups and look at what their performance you liked and what you can do to improve your own show,” Color Guard coach Ms. Nina Lemire said.
It’s Ms. Lemire’s first year with the LEE color guard team, and the team has been flourishing under her guidance. Ms. Lemire isn’t the only reason for success, however. The color guard students work really hard on a daily basis and they earned their top spot.
“The students did really well, it was their first time out with me, this is my first year at this school so that was really great and they worked really hard and it paid off,” Ms. Lemire said.
Come and show your support and school spirit at their next performance on Feb. 22.
