Marching bands throughout America are a tradition stemming from drum corps or military bands, and have become a staple throughout schools over the decades. Every year, marching bands put blood, sweat, and tears into their brand new, exciting shows. Whether that be memorizing music, practicing their sets, or running drills.
The marching band Fall Festival is an amazing event. Full of bold instruments, crisp air, and shows unlike those anyone has ever seen, with students eager to perform and excited to show what they have dedicated much time and hard work towards.
As the sound of instruments fill the football field, the audience waits to hear what the brilliant bands from the NEISD High schools have come to show off for this brand new marching season.
While there are many shows to be admired, our own LEE Bands’ show; “Exothermic” was the show to remember.
“Fall festival was really fun!” Sophomore Color Guard member Jenna Rejino said.” I don’t think there’s anything I would’ve done differently. I’m so excited to continue to watch shows from other schools and see them progress. I’m excited to perform and grow throughout this marching season and I think that our show will only get better from here, I think we ate.”
Jenna, along with other guard members all applaud their own, and the band as a whole’s performance at Fall Festival. With minor critiques, the LEE Band colorguard is very excited for this show to continue to get better with every rep we practice.
There is something in the air as you prepare yourself for what the shows you are about to see may show you. Something invigorating. A feeling that you can’t find anywhere else. Something holding you at the edge of your seat, anticipating something remarkable.
Whether you’re a parent, coming to support your child, a teacher, coming to support their students, or even a student marching on the field. There is never any doubt that all of the time and effort you or your loved one has put into marching shows have paid off.
