On Aug. 28, the LEE football team beat MacArthur 12-7, and the game was overall a big success. With their recent wins during the weekend scrimmages, and their so-far undefeated record, LEE football fans are looking forward to a good season.
Some mistakes were made during the game, some fouls were called, injuries occurred, but the team is going to analyze those mistakes and use them to get stronger.
“Defense played very well, there are some things we could fix on our offense, but overall we played pretty good,”Junior Varsity football player, Jamie Robinson said
The team is mostly composed of older members, many of which were on the varsity team last year, so they already have a good sense of community. They’ve been growing and improving since last season, and hopefully all of that hard work will be present on the field.
“I think this year is going to go way better than last year.Last year was more of a rebuilding of this year, and we’re a way better team than we were last year. So I think if everybody just puts their head together and we just work as a team we’ll be better this year. “Robinson said.
School Spirit was running high for the whole game, as the LEE Band, Dance, and Cheer teams helped motivate from the stands.
“As someone who’s not really involved in the athletic aspect of LEE I think it’s a good high school experience to be able to support our team, and add on to the hype of the football games,” Junior Drum Major Jazaniah Luna-Calderone
Football games are more than just games. They’re memories, experiences, and there is something for everyone to enjoy. Whether you’re on the team, in the stands cheering them on, or even just watching, football games are part of the high school experience, and it’s something you certainly don’t want to miss.
Come out and support the team as they take on the Southwest Legacy Titans, on Sept. 5, at the Southwest Legacy Stadium.
