LEE-esta was a successful and fun evening for all the clubs organizations at LEE on Wednesday, Sep. 18.
Several new clubs that had not previously participated joined the annual celebration this year. Newcomers like ASL Club, Camp Camp, French Honor Society and French Club joined even more groups returning from last year’s parade such as I am second, Chinese Culture Club, and Allied Campus Theater (ACT) to name a few.
“It was so much fun going on the parade, and giving out candy to the little kids around the neighborhood, and it was great to see all the communities there, and all the dancer performer, even tho it was hot and we were all sweaty we all still had a good time, I loved that all the french community got to wear the red berets,” Ms. Smith, French Club Sponsor said.
The event featured spirited performances from our cheer and dance teams, and an incredible “lion dance” performed by Chinese Culture Club members, Aidan Abney (12) and Luis Miranda (12).
“I had a great time , it was a transformative experience,” Abney said. “I really just enjoy having everyone there to support each other. It was very cool to see every other culture club and organization to support each other and I think they have all grown, and promote the well-being of the community. I enjoyed every second of the lion performing even if I was a little nervous.”
LEE-esta continues to be a beloved event that helps to build community on campus.
“Performing at LEE-esta was really fun, and getting to know everyone including the little kids, it was great to have new volunteers and the old volunteers there,” Melody Swift (12) said. “One of my favorite things was the parade, it was really really fun, I liked walking around, and seeing everyone cheering for us.”
