Allied Campus Theater is ready to wow audiences this year with unique plays and a spectacular musical.
ACT is currently getting ready for opening night of “Bugs” on Sept. 20. This play it’s about a group of bugs in a backyard whose owner it’s going to put in a pool, and they’re trying to convince the owner not to, leading to a tragic chain of events.
The theater director Ms. Danso says “the first thing I expect for this year it’s for everyone to have a good time, second thing will be for everyone to work really hard, and third to get out of our heads, and just have fun by expressing ourselves with body movements and body language, and I chose shows this year that will reflect that.”
There will be more exciting shows coming this year, such as “Nightfall” which will take place in the Black Box Theater in October. It is a very dark halloween show, so if you like “spooky season” this will be a perfect opportunity for you.
And finally, ACT’s musical for this year will be “Matilda the Musical.”
“I’m really excited for Matilda the musical, because I know it will be really fun. If people liked the two matilda movies, they are going to like this show as well,” Luis Miranda said. “I’m expecting that we are going to win the UIL competition, and we are going to advance like we did last year.”
Ms. Danso said; “people should come see these shows because the LEE program is growing, and we have all students from not only from LEE, but from ISA, STEM, and NESA.”
