If you are in love with Conrad from The Summer I Turned Pretty your next must watch has to be Mean Girls.
The new musical Mean Girls came out January 12. Directed and written by Samantha Jayne, the same genius that directed the classic Mean Girls from 2004. The drama of this movie was almost a perfect imitation of the original movie.
This movie wasn’t only based on the original old movie. Since it was a musical of course almost all the songs were from the broadway version of the show. In my opinion it was pretty much just like the first original mean girls, except almost all the main characters had to sing songs in the scenes.
The actors played their characters very well. I like how the script of this movie has references from the mean girls. We can even see the iconic Lindsey Lohan in one of the scenes during the movie. Which was very exciting for me to see, it gave me a lot of nostalgia. One of the best characters to me was Christopher Briney who played “Aron ” in the movie. It was definitely a cool experience to see him playing a different character.
I just felt like rewatching the same movie but with different actors and of course with music but it did leave me wishing that they had reinterpretted the story slightly.
If you liked the original Mean Girls and you would like to relive the iconic “on wednesdays we wear pink” experience this movie was made for you.
